2020 is FINALLY over! The best word to describe this year for real estate is busy, which might be a bit of an understatement for some of us. Starting 2021, most of us are thinking about resolutions and goals for this year, but the question is, how are we actually going to achieve these goals? Planning is always the best way to accomplish these goals. Even though planning out a year may seem overwhelming at this point, I’ve put together a list of the top 4 business planning tips for 2021 to help you get started.
Evaluate 2020:
To plan for this year, you should evaluate what worked last year. Did you have a lot of success with mailers? Did you get more leads from social media? Take the time to figure out what items increased your business and which ones didn’t.
Something else to evaluate is the time that you spent on each item. If some things were successful but took a lot of your time, you might want to do a little cost-benefit analysis to see if this is something you’d like to do again.
Goal Setting:
Now it’s time to get down to the nitty-gritty and set our goals for the year. Sitting down and taking the time to set our plans for the year can be difficult, but it is so crucial to your business and personal wellbeing. There are several different areas that you can focus on, but we encourage you to set goals for your spiritual journey, family, personal, work, and finance. It’s best to make these goals for the year and break them down into quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals. That way, you start big and then break it down to the achievable daily tasks.
Create Your Marketing and Social Media Plan:
There are so many of us that are daily trying to survive and not really in control of our business. Creating a marketing and social media plan is an excellent way to help put you back in control. We have so many resources that can help you develop both strategies. Our Education Team is a great tool to help you, and we have several dedicated classes to help with this planning.
Be Flexible:
We all know this industry is fast-paced, and one of the best qualities of people in the real estate industry is that we are adaptable and flexible. It’s important to remember that things will change; we will get busy or not work on our weekly goal task. That’s OK! Just remember to go back to the plan as soon as you can slow down.
