Marcie Whited has spent most of her life right here in Central Texas. She grew up in Round Rock, back when it was still a small town. “Most people would never guess that I was in the FFA and raised English Spot rabbits to show at the Houston Livestock Show,” she laughs. Despite her success raising rabbits, had a Grand Champion even, she gives some credit to her high school accounting class for sending her down a winding path toward Escrow.
“I worked for about 10 years in the banking industry before a friend of mine convinced me to switch to the title industry,“ she says. She started working in escrow doing loan packaging and order entry before moving into an assistant position. Three short years later, she was a licensed closer.
“There’s nothing like walking into a closing room and helping someone with a life-changing experience,” she says. “I’ve definitely missed witnessing those moments first-hand during this pandemic.”
Marcie’s number one goal is to always be a proactive communicator. “My team and I send out weekly updates on our files. We want everyone to know that we’re on top of their deals and moving the transaction forward,” she says. “Hannah Langley is my right hand, and together we strive to communicate clearly and effectively as well as follow-up on every single transaction we touch.”
“I like coming to work every day,” she says. “Independence Title feels like a family business, and this office is one big happy team. We take care of each other. I have worked on the ‘outside’ and I’m not going back. This is my home.”
When Marcie is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, spoiling her 3 grandkids, cooking, and exercising.
